beauty on garbage

Wow I’m feeling inspired to pick up my calligraphy pens and start cruising Vancouver’s alleys after coming across the work of Garbage Beauty ¬†from Montreal. This crew of 4 make beautiful marks on the trash that Montreal residents leave on the streets. Another reason I need to visit this city…though I never thought I would be planing travel dates around garbage pick up days.

The translated quote below and images are all from Garbage Beauty’s Facebook page. They are also featured in the latest Uppercase magazine.

Montreal is generous in “garbage” and bins, reflecting a consumer society that is tired and gets rid of objects without hesitation full of life and history. Before disappearing from your sidewalks, some of them still have things to tell you.
